March 8, 2014: the cold weather in southern Ontario has made for excellent ice fishing conditons. Jurgen, ray c., Geoff, Paolo and Tedy headed out to roches point on lake simcoe for a little hard water fishing. Despite over 2.5 feet of ice, the local bait supplier had figured the season was done and was therefore fresh out of fresh bait. Fortunately Jurgen had the foresight to have salted some minnows from his previous weekend of fishing so we had some bait to jig with. Over the course of the day, about 30 small to medium sized perch were caught.
